Aug 14, 2026 – Aug 22, 2026 · Sarajevo
WHEN SARAJEVO BECAME THE HEART OF CINEMA The 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival took place from August 14 to 21, 2026, bringing filmmakers, actors, industry leaders and audiences together across Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. With a special focus on Southeast European cinema, the Sarajevo Film Festival 2026 unfolded through red carpets, world and regional premieres, open-air screenings, competition programmes, masterclasses and CineLink Industry Days. The eight-day programme welcomed internationally recognised figures including Emily Watson, Diego Luna, Woody Harrelson, Asghar Farhadi, Emir Hadžihafizbegović and Céline Sciamma, alongside a new generation of filmmakers from across the region. The festival culminated in the Heart of Sarajevo Awards, celebrating outstanding films and creative voices. Beyond the screenings, its premieres, conversations and gatherings transformed Sarajevo into a meeting point for contemporary cinema, where the industry, the city and its audiences shared the same stage.
